Day 345

Well, I had Darren with me when I stopped to get groceries.  The bill was $279.  This is for a family of 2.  Granted the family of 2 includes a person that likes fresh produce even in winter, a meatitarian that doesn't get meat very often, and a spoiled rotten dog.  Next weekend is our Christmas shopping trip.  I will leave Darren home, and I bet it will be less.

Day 341

I ordered a few books for Callum for Christmas.  They have a lot of pictures and very little words.  Darren also likes pictures and no story, albeit different pictures :P.

Day 328

The leftovers when the carnivore in the house orders the pizza.  Our dog has no idea how lucky he is to live with a veggie lover!

Day 290

I am trying to get Darren to eat healthier.  The one piece of broccoli is his way of telling me to shut up.

Day 256

These two pretending to like each other while I am watching.  They are playing nice because I just put a mac and cheese in the oven, and if they misbehave they won't get any.

Day 248

I don't know what pisses me off more; the cheap ass Martha Stewart paint chipping, or Darren not noticing the chips for 2 weeks until I pointed them out to him.  That man is blind and that woman sells crappy paint.  ugh.

Day 216

I have been talking about my new chair a lot.  Some of you have questioned whether Darren got a new chair.  He did, but his isn't in the living room.  His is in the room that we used to call the family room, and I now refer to as the man room.  I am sitting in his chair in the picture. It is dead center in front of the big tv.  It is not overly inviting for anyone else to watch tv.

I am on Team Eric, for those of you who are wondering.

Day 214

So Darren and I were out for a walk at the park.  He grabbed me behind the trees, and said "I don't think anyone can see us".  I sit on the bench thinking that we are really too old to be making out on a park bench, but I go with it.  As I sit on the bench, he started to lay on the ground.  I am thinking that we didn't bring a blanket and that we definitely are too old to be rolling around in the grass.  Then he said his back was killing him, and started to do some stretches to make it better.  I almost died laughing.  I guess we are too old for sex at the park.

Day 208

Max and I were out for our walk when Darren drove by and took pity on Max.  Of course, Max couldn't get into the backseat, so I walked home alone.  I got a few stares from the neighbours, but no one dared ask where Max was.

Day 204

The trick to a cheap grocery trip is to go right after work, don't bring the husband, and don't even ask him what he wants.  I really should write one of those books on how to save money.  I probably shouldn't write a book on relationships.

Day 202

So I am trying to book a cottage for a week's vacation. (Did anyone else start singing Fresh Prince? No, just me?) They have to allow dogs, and really can't have too many stairs as Max doesn't like new stairs.  They have to internet, and can't be too rustic as Darren doesn't do rustic.

I really should just leave the two high maintenance beings in my family home and have this vacation be just about me.

Day 198

The nightly grooming session.  Let me tell you, that tongue is really rough.  It could exfoliate the roughest of skins.  It is the pumice of tongues.

Day 161

Since Darren got his new toy, we haven't talked much or even made eye contact.  At least he knows I am still alive as he reads this blog.

Day 141

Pac-Man is a gateway game.  It starts off innocent, but 30 years later you are ignoring your wife to pretend you are a soldier or a guitar hero.

Happy Birthday Pac-Man!

Day 138

I am not one of those touchy-feely people, but that fact I am a vegetarian and I made this rack of lamb for Darren shows I care.  It probably makes up for the time I almost did the Vulcan death grip when he tried to touch me in public.  Say no to PDA!

Day 30

It is Darren's birthday tomorrow. I have taken decorating classes, but no one besides my brother likes that yucky Wilton icing. Darren likes plain whip cream on his cake. (get your minds out of the gutter!!!!)
