Darren's grandmother recently went into a senior's home. She lived in her house for 65 years and she was a huge pack rat, so it took a while to clear out all her stuff. Although she wanted her family to have her treasures, a lot went in dumpsters (yes plural!). Because I had storage space, I received her dishes. We were having friends for dinner, so I thought it would be a good time to use them.
Lesson of the day: Use your stuff while you can. Eventually a loved one is just going to throw it out anyway!
great picture. am glad you were able to make use of her dishes. it's sad when you treasure things so much and others don't. and you are so right....enjoy your things while you can because no one else will treasure them like you do or even know why you treasured them.
