Day 181

New carpet!  Nothing gets dog smell out of a room like the chemical smell of new carpet.  I am not sure which is worse.

Day 180

My boy trying to see if I said "pizza", "treat", "timbit", "bellyrub", "say hi", "look who is here", or "grandpa".   Those are really the only words he knows.

Day 178

Sometimes I forget how old the people are that live in this town.  Then we park next to this and it all comes screaming back.

Day 176

This is what shows up in the backyard when a little boy moves in next door.  While it is a soccer ball, the kid is Canadian, so he uses it for hockey practice.

Day 174

The faithful readers know that I will be an aunt for the first time in September or maybe early October.  These things are hard to predict.  I am hoping for a nephew.  If I get a niece and she starts talking about being a princess, I am going to sit her down and make her watch the first season of Veronica Mars.  You know, so she will know what awesome is.

Day 173

This is how the other half in my community live.  I hate them.

Day 172

I had new colour put in my hair a couple of weeks, but I kept forgetting to take a picture.  A little blurry as I may have had a couple of drinks by the time I got up the nerve to take a self portrait.

Day 171

Look at all the little baby spiders.  They will grow to be big and strong and eat all the other bugs.

Day 170

A sign that the tourist season has started, because you know that no self respecting maritimer would ever eat a McLobster.

Of course, this begs the question whether people from Alberta would eat a Big Mac.

Day 168

I love cooking with fresh herbs, so when I saw this herb garden pot at the garden centre I had to have it.  Now that the herbs are growing in my backyard, I am having a hard time using them.  This is the vegetarian's version of "I am against hunting and killing animals, but I like my steak rare."

Day 166

The holy trinity in my fight against mosquitoes.  I would consider getting one of those bat houses, but while I don't actually believe in vampires, I see no reason to risk it.

Day 162

In honour of the world cup, I am drinking this wonderful South African wine.

Day 161

Since Darren got his new toy, we haven't talked much or even made eye contact.  At least he knows I am still alive as he reads this blog.

Day 160

We get a lot of bulldog stuff given to us.  This one speaks to me.

Day 159

This is a condo sales office.  It would be nice to have a condo right on the water.  It would be nicer if there wasn't a waste treatment plant hidden behind those trees.

Day 156

It looks so lonely.  I am sure I have failed it as a gardener.

Day 156

A lot of people think Germans design a great product.  Ask any BMW driver.  I am not much of a car person, but I am impressed with their erasers.  I have been using some variation of a Staedtler product since junior high.  I love them.

PS Homework sucks.  That hasn't changed since junior high either.

Day 154

I am trying to keep track of what I am eating, but I can't take the scale with me.  Thankfully that chocolate bar I had after lunch had the weight right on the package.  Apple should really make an app to turn my touch into a scale.

Day 153

After I wear these, I am in pain.  My feet are fine, but the rest of body is screaming "beyotch!"
